Meadcott was completely rebuilt and renovated for the 2007 season. The year long building programme was completed in December and therefore 2011 will be the fourth year that this house will be let in its new design and layout. The owners lived in the house over the winters and got rid of all the bugs associated with a new house.
Nearly everything is new and what is not new is in excellent condition. It is a large detached family home on two floors, tastefully furnished in a modern manner.
Meadcott is an ideal holiday home for a large family, or for people who like spacious accommodation. We have also had several families happily sharing the house for a large family gathering. It is situated on a quiet unmade up road close to the centre of the popular village of Bembridge and is ideally located for village shops, the beaches and some beautiful walks. The popular resorts of Sandown and Shanklin are a few miles away and are easily accessed by car or public transport.
Down stairs is a truly huge lounge/diner/kitchen combined.
The lounge area has a large flat screen television complete with digital box and plenty of comfortable seating for a relaxing time enjoying the television/DVD or the hi fi CD.
The kitchen is well equipped with a large cooker comprising of a gas hob with an electric oven. Dishwasher, microwave and fridge/freezer complete the cooking facilities. There is a utilities room off the kitchen with a washing machine and tumble drier. The kitchen also has a feature marble topped breakfast bar. The dining area has large table that easily seats ten people. There is plenty of crockery and cutlery all you need to bring is tea towels. The whole area has been designed and installed by experts for labour saving and easy living.
It never gets cold on the Isle of Wight but if it does there is full central heating and under floor heating in the kitchen.
Downstairs also has a toilet with wash facilities and a conservatory running along the entire back of the house. The conservatory is an ideal place to eat or enjoy a drink in the evening.
Outside there is an enclosed garden mainly laid to lawn, safe for young children and well behaved pets. A gas BBQ and outdoor table and seating allows al fresco dining.
There is ample parking outside on the road with no restrictions.
